West Ham United believe that they are back in with a chance of hiring Julen Lopetegui again as AC Milan have not sealed his arrival yet, according to reports from England.

Over the weekend, it emerged that Lopetegui was the frontrunner to take over from Stefano Pioli as the new head coach of Milan, but since then the brakes have been pumped on things.

It is impossible to ignore that there was a rather vocal expression of disapproval that came about on social media, like the petition against him titled ‘NOPEtegui’.

However, according to what is being reported by The Guardian’s Jacob Steinberg, West Ham’s move for Lopetegui is ‘back on the table’ because a Milan move is ‘looking far less likely than it did on Saturday morning’.

Meanwhile, Ben Jacobs is suggesting that the Rossoneri have taken a step backwards too. He states that both West Ham and Milan are ‘considering Julen Lopetegui and Paulo Fonseca’.

There is ‘nothing sealed yet with Milan and Lopetegui’ per the journalist, while West Ham are denying that they have ve already offered the Spaniard a three-year deal. What is however clear is that he iss one of the top options if they part ways with David Moyes.
