Detroit Lions backup quarterback Shaun Hill is recovering from minor surgery on his foot. Hill had the surgery to repair a “nagging injury” on his left foot.
The Lions needed Hill for only one game last season. Hill came off the bench to go 10-of-14 for 172 yards and two touchdowns in a loss to Tennessee.
Hill, 33, is one of the leagues better backup options...
Fantasy -- Choose Your QB: Ryan vs. Stafford
Today's installment of Choose Your Quarterback pits Matt Ryan against Matthew Stafford, the Nos. 6 and 7 assets in my latest rankings of the 32 presumed starting quarterbacks.
For what it's worth, they're also the franchise faces for Atlanta and Detroit the only two places I've ever called home.
Here's a week-by-week fantasy breakdown of Stafford vs. Ryan ...

The Detroit Lions went out and got Matthew Stafford a new toy to play with, when they acquired running back Reggie Bush in free agency.
Bush appeared on NFL AM this morning, and said that the Lions offense is similar to what you saw in New Orleans when he was there.
“As far as from an offensive perspective it’s a lot like what we did in New Orleans,” Bush said of the team he...
Reggie Bush Compares Lions To Former Saints Team
Lions running back Reggie Bush says the Detroit offense is similar to the Saints team he played with from 2006-10, according to a ProFootballTalk report.Fantasy Spin:Bush is an excellent pass receiver and should fit in well with a team that passed 740 times in 2012 (46.2 per game). He's also was able to stay on the field over the past two season which made him a viable fansty...
Titus Young does his best Chris Rock impression, but no one's laughing
In one of his routines, comedian Chris Rock once said that he’s not saying O.J. Simpson shoulda killed his ex-wife, but he ’understands’… We all laughed, because it’s comedy. But when troubled former Lions receiver Titus Young says it to his ex-girlfriend, it’s definitely restraining order time. And that’s exactly what his ex and mother of his 8-year-old son did,...
Detroit Lions’ History 101 for Rookies
The young men selected as the new crop of Detroit Lions might want to take a moment to carefully go over the photographs of their predecessors. Shoot, some photos referenced here may actually be found hanging in Allen Park or at Ford Field. In the 1950’s and 1960’s, these were not just football players, they were the terrors of what is now the NFC North. These days, there...

Titus Young’s girlfriend files for a restraining order after he told her, “I understand why O.J. killed his wife”
Titus Young’s girlfriend has decided to file a restraining order against him following his multiple arrests. It sounds like he’s had some serious issues with her as well. “He would say things like, ‘I understand why O.J. killed his wife.’ He says, ‘We’re always gonna be a family and I’m always going to be his,’” the restraining order request states, per the...
Nick Fairley Says The Detroit Lions Have Best DT Tandem In NFL
Nick Fairley is feeling rather confident this off-season, and who can blame him. Fairley finished the 2013 season off strong, and is starting to come into his own.
Fairley made headlines last week when he all but guaranteed the Lions would play in the Super Bowl. Fairley is making a less bold proclamation this time, but it’s still a bit bold.
In a conversation with detroitlions...

Titus Young faces up to 7 1/2 years in prison
We just reported that former Lions wide receiver Titus Young was arrested a total of four times over the past week. He was charged with a felony for robbing a convenience store on may 4th. Detroit Lions’ Schwartz, Mayhew still looking for the pony
Detroit Lions DE Ronnell Lewis tweeted an apology to fans for his part in an incident in Norman, OK last month. Lewis used Twitter to apologize to “everyone” and by that I presume he means fans, coaches, management and his teammates. He claims to have learned from his adventure and seems to commit to the idea that it won’t happen again. Good enough.
With his Tweets,...
Interest in Dwight Freeney heating up again
Four to five teams are reportedly interetsed in making a run for former Indianapolis Colts pass rusher Dwight Freeney.
Although Freeney has had his share of visits, no team has been able to sign him due to his high salary demands. NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports that things are about to change, with interest in Freeney "heating up." He'll be making the rounds...
