Detroit Tigers Recall Luke Putkonen, Option Evan Reed
The Detroit Tigers have recalled right-handed reliever Luke Putkonen from their Triple-A Toledo minor league affiliate. To make room for Putkonen on the active roster, the Tigers have decided to option right-handed reliever Evan Reed to the same farm club. Look for Putkonen to pitch in the middle innings for the parent club.

Miguel Cabrera’s 2013 numbers dwarf his 2012 Triple Crown numbers at this time
Miguel Cabrera is a pretty good hitter. On the heels of his 4 for 4, three home run, five RBI night against the Texas Rangers, his current numbers (through 42 games) make his numbers from last year through the 42 games look ordinary.

Even though the Detroit Tigers lost to the Texas Rangers, 11-8, Miguel Cabrera put on quite a show at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. Cabrera finished 4-4 on the night (one intentional walk) and also hitting three long balls back-to-back-to-back.
