Former Arsenal midfielder Dani Ceballos, who has recently returned to Real Madrid, suffered a nasty looking ankle injury while playing for Spain’s Olympics team.
Spain, who have taken a strong squad to Tokyo 2020, are considered among the favourites to go all the way and win the gold medal this summer.
Ceballos, who has spent the previous two seasons on-loan at Arsenal, is one of the most high-profile players competing at the tournament.

However, his race appears to have been run already, with the midfielder having suffered a nasty ankle injury during the opening game against Egypt.
Ceballos’ ankle, under challenge from Egypt’s Taher Mohamed, bent in a truly gruesome direction, leaving it extremely swollen.

For his sake, let’s hope it’s nothing too serious.
