Fresh off confirming a landmark 20th Scudetto, Inter can turn their attention to the transfer market, with two impending arrivals waiting in the wings. One of them is Porto striker Mehdi Taremi. Napoli’s Piotr Zielinski is another one.

Calciomercato has detailed the contract the Iran international is ready to pen at Giuseppe Meazza. At 32, Taremi will join Inter as a short-term solution to add to Simone Inzaghi’s center-forward options. According to the report, he’ll sign a two-year deal with an option to extend for another year.

Negotiations between Inter and Taremi have reached the final stage as the Iranian prepares to wave goodbye to Porto after four years. His impressive scoring exploits at the Estadio do Dragao made him one of the most highly-rated strikers in Europe. Even Milan tried to lure him to Serie A last summer.

However, Inter are on the verge of winning the race, with only the final details missing. Despite putting in a tremendous effort to see off the competition for Taremi’s signature, he’ll most likely play second fiddle to Inzaghi’s formidable attacking pairing. Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram are untouchable.

Marko Arnautovic is not. The Austrian joined Inter from Bologna last season. But after an injury-plagued campaign, he’ll probably drop the curtain on his second stint at the club in the coming months. Taremi should fill the vacancy as Beppe Marotta continues to build a superb squad with minimal investments.

The same goes for Zielinski, whose contract at Napoli runs out in June.
