Veteran wide receiver DeVante Parker won't be playing for the Philadelphia Eagles after all.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Parker has decided to retire instead.
"After nine NFL seasons, Eagles WR DeVante Parker has decided to retire, he said Monday night," Schefter wrote on X/Twitter. "As much as he looked forward to his time with the Eagles, Parker decided the time had come to spend more time with his family including his four children."

Parker, 31, was initially a first-round pick by the Miami Dolphins in the 2015 NFL Draft. He spent seven years in Miami before he was traded to the New England Patriots ahead of the 2022 season.
The Eagles signed Parker to a one-year, $4.69 million fully guaranteed deal back in March. However, the Eagles were responsible for paying Parker just $1.2 million of that deal while the Patriots took care of the rest.
Parker finishes his NFL career with 369 catches for 5,266 yards and 27 touchdowns.
For now, his only post-retirement plan is to take things slow and enjoy being a dad.
“I want to see my kids, spend quality time with them,” Parker said. “I want to be there for them whenever I can.”
While Parker's retirement is a slight loss for the Eagles as they figure out their No. 3 wide receiver situation, it's good news for veteran addition Parris Campbell and their two rookie receivers, who are competing for the job.
