New York Knicks’ Epic Game 4 Win Sparks Crazy Stephen A. Smith Reaction
Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

Before the playoffs started, the Philadelphia 76ers were among the favorites to dominate in the Eastern Conference, not Jalen Brunson and the New York Knicks. Turns out, the latter is the better team so far in the first round, much to the joy of Stephen A. Smith.

In Game 4 of their series, the Knicks got the 97-92 win over Philadelphia in their own home court. Brunson put on a stellar performance by posting 47 points, four rebounds, and 10 assists. OG Anunoby tallied 16 points and 14 rebounds, while Josh Hart added four points, 17 rebounds, and five assists. Miles McBride notched 13 points from the bench.

The Sixers, on the other hand, saw Joel Embiid lead the way with 27 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists. Tyrese Maxey dropped 23 points, but shot a poor 38 percent from the field the whole game. Kelly Oubre Jr. finished the game with 19 points and three rebounds.

The loss positioned Philly in a precarious situation as their season can end sooner than they expected. There’s also a chance Embiid might not be happy with his situation if they get eliminated in the first round. The Knicks, however, are proving everyone right with their decision to build around Brunson after the All-Star guard had an MVP-worthy season this year.

Stephen A. Smith Goes Bonkers After New York Knicks’ Game 4 Win Against Philadelphia 76ers

After the game, various personalities have given their take on New York’s win over the Sixers. Among those that reacted is no other than Knicks fan Stephen A. Smith when he posted his thoughts on X:

The Knicks are on the verge of winning this first playoff series after finishing second in the East during the regular season. Also, Brunson’s ascendance, even without Julius Randle in the lineup, is shaping to be the game-changer for New York and its chances to build a sustainable future for the franchise.

The series will now go back to Madison Square Garden and the Knicks will have the chance to close the series in their home court. If Embiid and the Sixers won’t be able to respond with a great game of their own, they’ll find themselves watching the playoffs at home.
