76ers coach Nick Nurse hurt himself in fit of frustration in Game 5

Chris Finch is not the only NBA head coach to have suffered an injury this postseason.

Ian Begley of SportsNet New York reports that Philadelphia 76ers coach Nick Nurse managed to injure himself during Game 5 against the New York Knicks on Tuesday. Nurse reportedly hurt his finger when he slammed his hand in frustration over a call. Nurse was thus unable to grip a marker to draw up plays in the second half, Begley adds, and it is unclear if he suffered a sprain or a break to the finger.

The 76ers managed to get the 112-106 victory over the Knicks in overtime to stay alive in the series (thanks to some all-time heroics from Tyrese Maxey). Since they got the win, at least the sacrifice of Nurse’s finger was not in vain.

All jokes aside, it is a good thing that it was only a finger injury for Nurse (though the extent still hasn’t been revealed). We did just see the Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Finch suffer a much greater injury on the sideline over the weekend.
