Three rising stars for the Minnesota Twins

With spring training underway, each team is filled with hope for a World Series title and fresh faces are ready to make a name for themselves in the majors. After winning their first playoff series since 2002 in 2023, the Minnesota Twins will look to capitalize on a weak division to make another postseason run in 2024.

Here are three rising stars looking to make an impact for the Twins in 2024.

Royce Lewis, third base

2023 MLB stats: .309/.372/.548, 15 home runs and 52 RBI in 58 games played

The first overall pick in the 2017 MLB Draft, Lewis has battled injuries throughout his professional career.

Playing in only 58 games for the Twins last season, the 24-year-old slashed .309/.372/.548 with 15 home runs and 52 RBI.

After helping the Twins win their first postseason series since 2002, Lewis is primed to become a star if he can win his battle with the injured list in 2024.

Leading MLB with four grand slams last season in only 271 at-bats, Lewis batted .385 with eight home runs and 45 RBI with runners in scoring position, proving to be a headache for opposing pitchers.

Lewis looks like the next franchise pillar for the Twins to build around in Minnesota.

Edouard Julien, second base

2023 MLB stats: .263/.381/.459, 16 home runs and 37 RBI in 109 games played

Making his rookie debut in 2023, Julien proved more than capable of handling MLB pitching with 33 extra-base hits and 60 runs scored in 109 games while batting atop the Twins lineup.

This spring the 24-year-old has been on fire, slashing .381/.458/.714 with two home runs and five RBI in nine games played. Heading into the 2024 season he has all the tools to have a big season in Minnesota.

An 18th-round pick in the 2019 MLB Draft, Julien slashed .285/.437/.487 with 40 home runs and 161 RBI in 263 games during his minor league career before his MLB debut.

He will look to make a big impact for the Twins in 2024.

Brooks Lee, shortstop

2023 MILB stats: .275/.347/.461, 16 home runs and 84 RBI in 125 games played

Thanks to a crowded Twins infield, Lee has yet to make his MLB debut but that should change in 2024.

Drafted with the eighth pick in the 2022 MLB Draft, the 23-year-old has done nothing but hit since making his professional debut.

Slashing .281/.355/.459 with 68 extra-base hits and 99 RBI in 156 games during his minor league career, Lee enters this season ranked as the 18th best prospect in the MLB according to MLB.com's prospect list.

Lee has all of the tools needed to be successful in the MLB and will look to make an immediate impact when given the opportunity.
