PFF Ranks Tate Ratledge Among Nation's Best

Georgia will return four offensive linemen with starting experience in 2023. Among them will be redshirt-junior Tate Ratledge. The 6-foot-6 guard out of Rome, Georgia started 14 out of 15 games for Georgia during the team's run to the National Championship, missing just the Kentucky game with an injury.

Ratledge's play during Georgia's undefeated season has been noticed, as PFF ranked him 7th in the country among returning interior offensive linemen.

From PFF:

"His 85.6 pass-blocking grade on true pass sets ranked second among all guards in the country."

2022 was Ratledge's first full season as a starter, after his 2021 season came to end in Week 1 vs Clemson.

His physical style of play has been a big part of what Georgia has done upfront. Ratledge's chemistry with Sedrick Van Pran helped Georgia average 205.3 yards per game on the ground. The unit gave up just 9 sacks in this past season.

He'll join Xavier Truss, Amarius Mims, and center Sedrick Van Pran as returning starters for Georgia on the line. Van Pran surprised many by turning down an opportunity to turn pro, electing to return to Georgia.
