It’s All About The Bens
I have had Tampa Bay Rays, Ben Zobrist, on my fantasy baseball team for the past 3 years. In general, I have not been disappointed.
I am not sure how I end up with him each year, but it has turned out that way lately. As with every player, there has been times where he is not performing well. But he has helped my team so I cannot complain too much.
I like Zobrist for his versatility...
Measure it: Zobrist MLB's best
Ben Zobrist, best player in baseball.
Doesn't sound right, does it? But according to baseball-reference.com, Zobrist is the major-league leader in Wins Above Replacement (WAR) since 2009 -- and in the Fangraphs.com's version of WAR, he is second only to Miguel Cabrera during that time.
I know what you're thinking -- c'mon, no way. Zobrist, who turns 32 on May 26...

Video: Ben Zobrist gets rung up on most egregious strike three call ever
The game between the Rays and Rangers Monday night ended with perhaps the worst strike three call in the history of baseball. With the Rays trailing 5-4 in the top of the 9th, Ben Zobrist had a chance to bring around the tying around, which was leading off first base. However, the Rays were down to their final out, and Zobrist had pushed the count full against Rangers hurler Joe Nathan...

The Tampa Bay Rays lost to the Texas Rangers 5-4 Monday on a dispute strike called on Ben Zobrist to end the game.
The count was full as Joe Nathan was facing Zobrist with a man on first and two outs in the top of the ninth. Nathan threw a breaking ball that dipped down and appeared to tail out of the strike zone. Home plate umpire Marty Foster...

BRADENTON, Fla. (AP) -- Ben Zobrist homered leading off a three-run sixth inning Friday for Tampa Bay, but Stefan Welch hit a three-run homer in his first spring training at-bat to help the Pittsburgh Pirates beat a split squad 6-4.
Welch, a third baseman who played last season at Double-A, hit a towering shot to right field off Dane De La Rosa.
The Rays scored three runs to take...

Player Profile #74: Ben Zobrist | 2B, SS, OF | TB
If I had one word to describe Ben Zobrist it would be patient. Now, I don’t know him personally so he could be the most hot-headed man on the planet, but at the plate he is cool as a cucumber. His 37.4% swing rate was tied for second lowest with Kevin Youkilis (Joe Mauer was first with 35.4%), but Zobrist didn’t swing for good reason; he walked 14.5% of the time. Not surprisingly...
Ben Zobrist Shows Off Juggling Skills in Front of Thousands of Fans (Video)
You knew Ben Zobrist could hit and play basically any position. But did you know that he can juggle, too? Zobrist started at shortstop in Tampa Bay's Saturday matchup against the White Sox and was in perfect position on a ball hit by Dayan Viciedo. But a routine play turned into quite the affair. Zobrist had the ball go off of his glove, then off of the top of his hat, then back...
BITTEN BY ACTING BUG
Video: Rays' Ben Zobrist appears in short film
If watching Ben Zobrist has taught us anything...it's that the Tampa Bay Rays utilityman is versatile. In his six seasons in the bigs, dude has taken the field at every position except pitcher and catcher. And now, the 2009 All-Star can add "actor" to his resume.Zobrist is set to make his movie debut (alongside his wife Juliana) soon, having filmed a cameo appearance...
Tampa Bay doubles down with Zobrist
PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. Of the 934 players to appear in a major league game last year, the surname that was dead last in the alphabet could be found in Tampa Bay. But fortunately for the Rays, Ben Zobrist ranks high on a different list: as one of the best players in baseball.
In fact, ESPNs Top 100 ratings for 2011 placed the 30-year-old switch-hitter at No. 62.
And when it comes...
