French Paralympian's stolen prosthetic arm recovered by police after tear gas attack

French police have reportedly recovered the prosthetic left arm of Paralympic star Arnaud Assoumani after it was stolen by two men in an attack on the French long jumper in a Paris suburb on Saturday.
According to The Telegraph, the arm was in a scooter being driven by Assoumani and later stolen by the two thieves after they attacked him with tear gas. Police found the arm undamaged in a bush after apprehending one of the suspects on Sunday.
Assoumani, who won gold at the 2008 Paralympics in Beijing by setting a new world record of 7.23 meters, reportedly might not have been able to compete at next month's Paralympic Games in London if the arm was not recovered. So, we're glad to hear the police were able to give Assoumani a hand. (Whole world collectively moans.) I'm sorry, I'll show myself out.
