Ah, the Netherlands. You’ve brought us the yacht, the microscope, and the laser disc. You discovered Australia and the Falkland Islands. And now you bring us this: The Dutch women's field hockey team, turning heads in London, on the field and off.

It’s as if the shocking blue fields with pink lining at Riverbank Arena were made to help your day-glow orange uniforms stand out. It doesn’t hurt that you’re actually winning (3-0 over Belgium on Sunday), and that you’re the defending Olympic gold medalists. But, in the end, it's the fact that you’ve been unofficially named the most beautiful team at the 2012 Olympics that has you making headlines.

So, here’s to you Sophie Polkamp, Ellen Hoog, Carlien Dirkse van den Heuvel, and other women whose names we can’t pronounce — may all your Olympic dreams come true! Some of ours already have.
