Ryan Lochte sports a diamond grill on medal podium (Photo)

Ryan Lochte kicked off what could become a very decorated London Olympics by decisively winning gold in the 400-meter individual medley on Saturday (Michael Phelps floundered out of the medals with a disappointing fourth-place finish).
On the medal podium following the race, Lochte’s fourth-career Olympic gold medal noticeably wasn’t the only bling he had on. The swimmer continued his tradition of sporting diamond-ecrusted grills on his teeth during medal ceremonies. Lochte’s fixation with oral jewelry has a measured history that goes back to at least the Beijing Games.
So, he has a penchant for flashy sneakers and really likes to wear grills. Are we sure Lochte doesn’t also have a rap album under the name Lil Lochte?

Very tacky! Not sure what kind of an impression he's trying to make but I'm not impressed. Comes off as extremly arrogant. He shows he's a good swimmer and he should act with dignity and grace at such an event. This completely ruins my impression of him. If he hopes to get all those great endorsements after the games are over he should tone it down. I would not support any company choosing to use him as their front man. Especially if he were showing that god awful chunk of metal in his mouth. And I work in a jewelry store.

funny, the media portrayed phelps as being the douche king, but obviously they were wrong.

Honestly I think if youre good enough to win a Gold Medal then you should be able to wear a diamond grill. I mean seriously people get a grip. I think it is funny that Phelps lost to Lochte. Everyone seemed to want Phelps to win. Well go to Burger King and get a Whaaa burger and a large order of Cries and shut up already. Phelps doesnt seem to really have his mind in this anymore. He really has nothing to gain afterall he has already won 8 medals. Maybe he needs to retire. I cant wait to see Lochte win another medal. Maybe then everyone will realize that he is just as good if not better than Phelps.

Honestly timothy nobody gives a crap what you think. Sounds to me like you're the one whinning. No one is saying who is the better athlete, that has nothing to do with it. Acting like a professional is the topic here. He can save the grill wearing for when he's down in the hood.
