McKayla Maroney is a good sport about 'McKayla is Not Impressed' meme (Photo)

While the "McKayla is Not Impressed" meme exploded online this week, it would have been understandable if McKayla Maroney herself was displeased by it. But in a tweet Maroney sent on Saturday, she showed not only that she's being a good sport about the online phenomenon she's at the center of but also that she might even be a fan of it.
Maroney and gymnastics teammate Aly Raisman were supposed take part in a friendly swim race on Saturday, but when they arrived at the pool they were denied.
Just take a guess what Maroney's reaction was.
She tweeted the above photo of her, Raisman and Kyla Ross with the message, "The pool is closed.. #notimpressed."
Contributing to a online meme you helped inspire? We are impressed.

OMG!!!!!!!!!! proof read people before sending messages........YOU sound so stupid
-
littledouknow is a good name for you. Before you start telling other people they sound stupid, check your own messages and learn how to spell and punctuate. Here's what it should look like:
Proofread, people, before sending messages.
You're welcome. -
U 'tupid!
-
This is what I learned in first grade:
1). I capitalize the first letter in a sentence.
2). I use a period to complete a statement/sentence.
3). I capitalize the letter "i" when referring to myself.
4). Your means: Possessive form of you - as in your car. You're means: You are -
as in you're an ignoramus.
5). Capitalize proper nouns. It's Pa. not pa.
6) Capitalize your name. It's Lisa Saullo not lisa saullo.
Your writing isn't worth the black powder to blow it back to hell. Stop writing in that god-dam*ned Twitter language. No one will take you seriously when you write like that. I feel sorry for the fate of America and the world when I see people writing as if they were born blind and with only half a brain. -
You know what you're talking about except for one thing.............you did not learn all that in first grade.
-
You just hit the grammar Nazi and their patronizing brown nosers....
@soonergirl1 and @wyodrifter are the ONLY one that make sens here.
English is not even my first language and I did understand everything she wrote in her first message...So,IMO,you also did (you mosdef knew what she meant).
So @InBedTogether ;What is an "ignoramus" (the missing link???).Did you learned that in first grade also??(cuz etymologically,we can make sens of it,"sort of",but in English...not so much...)
And if you really feel sorry for the fate of America(like you wrote),theirs lots of kids that need help at your local school. But if you still want to sound like a smart a$$,keep patronizing ppl on the net.
Osti que ça fait du bien... -
and this is why YOUR LONELY!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Please tell me how you own a your ??????????? Your is a word of possession like : your car or your house .. Now the word you're means you are; so your word should be you're and not your ..
-
Too little, too late.
-

-
McKayla the whole "I'm not impressed" is so funny. Keep up the sense of humor.

Love this. People leave the girl alone. She's only 18 and this was supposed to be her big moment. Her sour puss wasn't about being angry that someone else won, it was because she messed up and was ticked at herself. How many of you have been angry with yourself over something you did or didnt do and when someone tried to cheer you up, you pushed them away?
-
hahaha I loved her reaction -she should be a character on south park!
-
Great job by her to own it and use this to her advantage. Smart and classy.
-
Boooo. It's sad that many ppl are making SO much effort to excuse her spoiled brat, poor-loser crap. We've taken something that should've been criticized, and turned it into "oh that's so cute; let's validate it virally so it'll be okay". And the ppl in this thread are no better; 'nice job girls', and 'you go girls'?! Stop encouraging her to spread her selfish, poor-sport behavior to a generation that's already vastly deficient in that capacity.
-
What about this new generation of people who troll the online news to find something negative to rant about? It takes very little effort or thought to try to summarize a person's character based on one snapshot in time. We would all be exposed as poorly put-together humans if opinions of us were formed by select moments in our lives. She's a kid and has plenty of time to change the way she reacts to disappointment in the future. How old are you and still throwing stones?
-
tooo funny!!!
-
First and last
You most likely have no idea how much hard work, dedication and time these girls put in to be the best in the world. So she made a face big deal! Get a life and stop criticizing things that you shoudn;t be concerned with. Great photo girls............ -
But would you still have this opinion if the Russian girl did it to her?
-
No, I know how much hard work it took her - a little less than the girl who received gold. DIdn't see the bronze medalist sporting a bratty little frown. You'd do our nation, and our international image, some benefit to demand the same poise exhibited by those from other nations who placed even lower than she did and went home without a medal, and without the nonverbal protest you'd see on the face of an average 10 year old.

I love my girls. Raismen was my fav, but mckalay's broke nose makes her cutie
-
they're my favorite part of the entire olympics
-
Seems like a perfectly normal reaction to me. lol
And they are good sports. -
FirstandLast, you have a hard time reading huh? Not sure where you get selfish or poor behavior out of this article... Please read it again.
"Maroney and gymnastics teammate Aly Raisman were supposed take part in a friendly swim race on Saturday, but when they arrived at the pool they were denied."
This has nothing to do with Olympics, medals or being tempermental. It has to do with a girl who was invited to a fun event and then once they arrive, they are denied access because the other people involved are being spoiled brats.
Your trolling effort is poorly designed and executed. Good day sir. -
Great shot girls - funny stuff. Screw the critics.
-
funny...the girl on the left (Kyla) looks like she struggles to make a pouty face, probably because she's too HAPPY...nice job girls!...keep it up. I smell a Saturday Night Live skit coming...

These really are funny pics for many occasions

It's a simple and bizarre fact, "Not Impressed" was worth a lot more fame than a gold medal would have been. Looking forward to seeing her stamped on some pics from the closing ceremony:-)
