Kayaker Mike Dawson was penalized two seconds by his mom

Most of the parents who are at the Olympic Games in London are there to cheer their little ones on as they play their heart out for their homeland. One Olympic athlete almost didn't make it through to the next round because of his mom.
Mike Dawson, a member of New Zealand's Olympic kayaking team, earned a two-second penalty on his final time last Sunday. He touched one of the slalom gates during his run and a judge slapped him with the penalty, according to the Associated Press.
The judge, however, had to show no mercy because the kayaker in question is her son.
Thankfully, Dawson's time was still good enough to make it through to the next round. He also joked with the AP that he thought about filing a protest through his coach, Les, who also happens to be his father.
I'm pretty sure the coach won't be doing that unless he never wants another attempt to make a little Olympic champion with her ever again.
