German Stephan Feck had the worst dive of the Olympics
Stephan Feck didn't win a medal at the Olympics, but he's receiving much more attention than your average 29th-place finisher.
Feck lit up the Internet with jokes after going reverse belly-flop into the pool on a dive off the 3M springboard on Monday. The 22-year-old German lost the grip on his leg while doing his flips and landed flat on his back during his second dive of the preliminary round. The youngster received a 0.0 score on the dive and finished last out of 29 competitors. About the only thing positive to say is that at least his score should impress Brother Bluto.
Feck finished with a score of 133.80 for his three dives and was 167.65 points behind the diver who finished second-to-last. He did not perform his final three dives after feeling sick, but we commend him just for giving it another effort with a third dive after that disaster. Russian Ilya Zakharov led all divers with a score of 507.65.
Olympians spend years perfecting their skills in hopes of impressing the judges and representing their country proudly. Unfortunately, that doesn't always happen. All it takes is one mistake and the next thing you know you're a household name across the world for all the wrong reasons. The Olympics can bring a lot of glory, but also plenty of embarrassment for athletes like Feck, or even this guy.

He Fecked up...
-
Get out off that dive board shnelllll!!!!!!!!!!
-
Well, everybody makes mistakes... Just this one was at wrong time. Sorry Feck, but take it easy.
-
FECK MY LIFE!!!!!!!!
-
Next time I bet he won't think about the back-stroke while diving...
-
...and the agony of defeat (and de leggies)...
-
-
............ive never seen that before
-
This article is cyber bullying for the athlete. Keep feeding up the fire, so more people can keep making fun of him. I bet the majority of those making fun are from the US. Use you brain people, your brain. At least two neurons.
-
Camilo - Interesting how you cast a stone and judge at those making negative comments then then you further go on to stereotype and make assumptions they are from the US. Sounds to me like you're someone that either doesn't know the history about the USA and/or doesn't appreciate the country you live in (as it says you live in Miami). I suggest you are the one that should think twice before you speak and cast blame on others. The problem is that people don't have a sense of humor any more and everyone has to get offended or be the victim. I'm sure Mr. Feck's ego can handle things just fine we don't need people like yourself sticking up for him!
-
It's pathetic that people do that. There is a reason he made that comment, go on youtube and see all the hate, that is all there is and I guarantee you can find it on 100% of the videos there. You're obviously a close minded fool and after reading your comment, you made it sound like anything is ok if you have a sense of humor.
So I can go kill someone but say, "Hey it's ok! This dead person's ego can handle it!"
Camilo79 is right, most of American would be making fun of him because that is how this country is. -
I'm afraid your missing those neurons you speak of. However, I do believe you have an extra chromosome in your DNA chain, so I'll excuse your foolish comment. GO USA!!!
-
Wow how did you come to that conclusion? A US-based website, hosted from the US, in ENGLISH. No way, most of the commenters are American? How could that possibly be? Wow you are so stupid. Why don't you go to german websites and say "I bet you are all a bunch of Germans who posted this crap" because I can guarantee its not just a US website that is posting this hilarious jump. This is the best thing that could ever happen to this guy, if he made a normal dive, he would've gotten 8th place, and been nobody. Now he will probably get 15 minutes of fame and make a few bucks.
-
Shut your mouth, your mouth! Free speech!
-
fecked up isn't it
-
You know, you have to feel sorry for the guy. It's much better to be well known for what you have done well instead of the biggest screw up ever.
-
It is a shame that people are ridiculing him, everyone of these competitors are by far better than anyone of us could possibly do. It is extreemly difficult to get the opportunity to compete in the olympics and then the pressure after you are there must be intense. Kudos to a great athlete, sorry he had a bad day.
-
This article is cyber bullying for the athlete! Keep feeding up the fire for more people to make fun of this professional kid. He is more serious and respectful than the person who wrote this article.
Begin to use at least 2 neurons of your brain to write better articles.
P.S. dont errase my comment. If it bother you, then imagine how the athlete will feel if he reads your non sense article. -
This article is not cyber bulling ..... cyber bulling is treatening someone or telling them that they are losers and not worth anything .... read it again no bulling just the facts he had a bad day guess what it happenes but his just happened at the 2012 olympics no one is LOL at him we all wish him the best .... the only thing I disagreed with is he did nto finish his last two dive's and I most people feel the same way
-
Hmm.."I bet", "you brain", "errase", "non sense"...I agree with your intended message, but you might want to take a few seconds to proofread before you hit "Submit".
-
Winning!
-
got to get some of that tiger's blood
-
Sometimes things go wrong no matter how hard you train. He is still a great diver, Thank God for his effort and good sportsmanship.
-
This is horrible reporting at the expense of its subject.
-
As R. P. McMurphy said, "But I tried, didn't I? Goddamnit, at least I did that."
Feck tried and that's a heck of a lot more than the rest of us can say.
Keep your head up and rock on Feck! -
Anyone out there old enough to remember ABC's Wide World of Sports? Remember in the opening when the announcer said, "...and the agony of defeat" and it showed a ski jumper going off the side of the jump? This reminds me of that. This guy has probably done thousands of dives flawlessly, but he will only be remembered for this one. Just like the guy who went off the side of the ski jump.
-
As ugly as that dive was.... he is still among the worlds best.. You don't get to the Olympics by not being among the BEST. It was a good shot, sad in a way, funny in every way..
loved it. -
At least they did not give him a negative score. I think they should have gave him some points for making the most of a really bad day. He finished with honor.
-
i agree
-
This is totally why we should watch the Olympics. The agony of defeat!!! I also want to see prominent video placement of the Chinese hurdler that totally flopped as well. I guess he didn't get past the first hurdle! That should go viral as well.
-
awww this is so sad.
years of training for this guy.
and for all you ppl verbally beating him up, don't you think he is already doing that to himself. he don't need your help. Stephan hang in there honey, you'll have another chance. great try mate. -
Well... I assume that all of you that are criticizing him are Olympic athletes and have spent countless hours practicing to represent your country.
Am I right?...Not?....Yeah.. I didn't think so.
You have no right to judge an Olympic athlete. He has accomplished more than you will ever accomplish. Just making it to the Olympics takes dedication, sacrifice and self respect .
Besides diving is not really a professional sport; he probably gets very little money in return and does it for the love of the sport which is the REAL meaning of the Olympic Games. -
I would have given him a 0.1 just for entertainment value
-
He should have totally faked that was the dive he prepared his whole life for! Got out and waved to the crowd, perhaps a prideful tear rolling down his cheek and of course a victory lap.
-
wow, that was funny. so are most of the hyper babbles of the skirts on here. Having competed in sports myself critisim comes with territory as does praise. Probably those so offended ( cyper bullying) have never competed but demanded they were treated equal to those how did. Grow a pair people
-
I'm sorry I think I laughed at this way too hard, I was just expecting him to do this perfect dive and whammo! I think because in all reality it's diving, you're going to mess up sometimes. I just don't think the judges were very fair with a 0.0. He DID jump off the board and flip a few times BEFORE he hit the water. Even someone who falls off a balance beam during their stunt or falls flat on their face gets SOME points. jeez.
-
sometimes people get refresments from the heat of others that'wrong,he shuold be proud to participate only a few good competitor made it to the olympic,Mr feck i admire you keep itm up
