Dr. Ruth is also creeped out by Ryan Lochte's mom and her son's one-night stands

You know you've crossed a line when you make octogenarian sex expert Dr. Ruth Westheimer, a woman who has studied and discussed more legal sexual acts than your average U.S. congressman, say "Gaaaaaaah!"
Recent news about Ryan Lochte's own mother announcing that her gold medal-winning son only has time for one-night stands with the ladies rather than a meaningful relationship probably made the entire nation's hair stand on end. Dr. Ruth took to her Twitter to express her mutual disbelief:

Then she did what most good Jewish mothers would do in this situation. She turned to her faith.

Apparently, that didn't help because God was creeped out by the news too. So she tried to use her years of psychological expertise to explain why the mother of an Olympic swimmer knows the intimate sexual escapades of her lil' champion.

Finally, she used what any non-PhD-carrying human being would use in this situation: A sense of humor.

Thanks, Dr. Ruth. Now we're officially creeped out all over again.

My husband made the statement that his mom is trying to KEEP him from having a serious relationship because she wants to be the only woman in his life. He thinks that she said it to make him as unappealing as possible and that no girl is good enough for her baby, so it's totally okay for him to use 'em but just don't get serious with 'em.
-
Your husband is absolutely right!!

I think that you hit the nail on the head, JFChrist.
That mother is revealing something herself and her family life that should trouble anyone. Parents have no business concerning themselves with romantic and sexual interests of their children other than to give them good advise about the choices they might make. My daugthers would be appalled if I made any kind of pronouncement about ther time constraints let alone their private lives in the area of romance and sex. And, rightfully so. I'd expect to lose them that way. Mr. Lochte is a young man with a life to live. Parents who don't seem to understand the impact of their attitudes about their adult children are responsible for much harm in our world. II feel sorry for that young man (Lochte) that he doesn't have parents with wisdom and a sense of decency about their own son. -
I think Momma Lochte seems to be marking her territory. We know the cliche about a guy looking for a wife who is just like his mother and the mother who thinks no other woman out there is good enough for her son.
Momma Lochte seems to be telling her son's potential dates that they may be good enough for him to "hit it and quit it," but they would never measure up to the "gold standard"--Momma Lochte. -
First of all, this story really is more humorous than creepy to me!! I happen to be very comfortable talking about sex...I don't think Ryan's mom is his "wingman" at all...She simply stated some facts about her son, and you know, mom's kind of know their sons just a little bit, don't ya think!!
A wingman goes on dates with his buddy...All Ryan's mom said is that he does not have time for building any serious personal relationships right now, because he is putting his swimming career first in his life...If you actually THINK about it, there is HONESTY being spoken here!!
We have to remember that these atheletes are basically still kids, and a lot of times they have sacrificed their entire childhood to train for one critical make or break moment that comes all too fast and is gone even faster...Let's stop prying too much into their personal lives, and let's APPLAUD AND APPRECIATE THEIR EFFORTS TO SIMPLY BE THE BEST THEY CAN BE!!
Now as for Doctor Ruth and her tweeting, I have always loved her so much!! Once again, she is a voice of honesty, and when it comes to Good Sex, honesty is so rarely found, and so often overlooked...And I love her double entendre!! I am glad to see she still rocks!!
And finally, as an out and proud gay man, let me say that any girl who gets a one night stand with Ryan will be lucky, and I would chase him down in a heartbeat...He is simply smokin' hot, and I would settle for a half-night stand with him, hehe!! :)
Good luck to all the atheletes still competing, and I hope some peopole enjoy the comments I wrote here today!! -
You can always dream....Maybe Lochte might be on your team! LOL
-
Replying to this proud gay young man.....your words are my words too...this is exactly what it is....thank you for beating me to it !
-
More power to you man!! I agree, he is still a child and learning about himself sexually. We all had that time in our life when we would sleep w/ a friend just to have the experience. He is being very normal young man.
-
It may be honesty, but I call it meddling.....don't care how hard or long Ryan Lochte trains.....not his mother's place to decide his sex life for him......she's way out of line!
-
WELL SAID! It is also a CULTURAL thing ... she's a CUBAN mother and I'm surprised Dr. Ruth didn't catch on to that being a Jewish mother herself. Cuban mothers (I am one) are NOTORIOUS for being "involved" in their children's lives ... again, it's part of our culture. I totally get her wanting him to focus on his training and not have any female (or male if it were the case) distractions. I also applaud her admitting the fact that the young man has "needs" and if a young woman is willing to take care of them even for one night ... go for it.
And like etsscommander said : Applaud and appreciate their efforts to be the best they can be ... and I will add ... applaud their families that supported and encouraged them! USA! USA! USA! -
Lochte should trade in his mom for Dr. Ruth. Parents sure know how to embarrass their kids. Aargh!
-
LMAO at Dr. Ruth!!! I'm sure Lochte's mom meant to be funny, but I'm sure she's finding out people do not always get the true meaning she intended by her comment. Actually it's a lesson for all of us.
-
Well, maybe Mom is just trying to keep the girls away. I mean with an endorsement like that all the ladies looking for a relationship will look the other direction if they are smart.
Guess she's not looking for a daughter -in- law or grand kids anytime soon, unless by accident! Just the type of relationship you want your son to have!
And just the thing you want your MOTHER to broadcast for you! HA!
I am rooting for Phelps anyway. Lochte attitude is lacking in many areas.
-
-
I think she is just trying to get camera time and attention for herself also! She is as pathetic of a person as her son. he is a talented swimmer, but will never be as good as Michael Phelps because he has no class!
-
yeah because smoking weed is so classy right? Get a life stop hating on people who actually have a good one
-
ya Phelps made an error. move on.
-
agree
-
The quote was "he's too busy for a girlfriend"...ya think training for the olympics leaves alot of time for a social life? Jeeze....lighten up and put away the judge.
-
Not too busy to cruise bars for one-nighters, apparently. I would think he would want his sleep. Spin it all you want, he's a little manwhore. Let it be.
-
I agree with muhnamuhna. My boyfriends mom is like this. Whenever we are alone she can't wait to tell me bad things about him. She wants him all to herself.
-
C'mon, this is a funny story. Seriously am I the only girl who has ever been warned off by a playa's mother? He's cocky, he's got a $30k grill in his mouth, and now he's a notorious womanizer. Big deal. Just as I roll my eyes when someone like this makes a move on me, there will be a dozen others who find this attractive and make it their life's work to change him. Have at it, girls.
-
She just wants to shoo away the ladies to protect her little cash cow. Meh, she prolly deserves it after driving him to swim practice and stuff.
-
Mom should have been more careful - and yes she sounds like a CONTROLLING MOTHER - and who would want her for a mother-in-law - she sounds possessive., Leave your son alone - lady - get a life
-
After some of his remarkes about Phelps' career and the whole Bling Thing... I am beginning to think Lochte is pretty much full of himself. Maybe that's one of the reasons he can't get a second date!
-
Reply to the proud gay young man......your words are my words too....this is exactly what it is.....thank you for beating me to it !
-
I thought Olympian's and their families were to promote Class and dignity? Unless they want their sponsors to be Trojan, or Adult Movie Entertainment? With comments like that she is hurting her own son's advertisement money and doesn't even know it. Maybe he is going to be a spokes person for Planned Parenthood. :-)

Three words regarding Dr Ruth: Grilled Cheese Sandwich
-
I think a lot of people are making a big deal of nothing. More than likely the interviewer asked his mom about whether he had a girlfriend or not. Mom's and dad's are just people afterall and we all make "mistakes" saying the wrong thing. Most of us are not used to what we say going out to the world! Good Lord, I would be stoned for all the things I might say that I shouldn't have said. LOL. Give his mom a break and give him a break! They are both probably totally embarrassed by the guffaw!
-
This is what is wrong with the world today. People are growing up with no Morals or Values. Shame on these parents that think it's okay to behave like this!
-
Maybe he hasn't found the right guy
-
I don't see the big deal about his mother's comments of his sons personal life. Its only news now that he is an olympic celebrity. Everyone has embarrasing things they don't want the public to know about. So don't be quick to judge.
Her words were taking out of context and even though she was thinking out loud. Let's be honest most parents are protective of their adult children when it comes to dating and relationships.
In my opinion she is basically stating that her son has goals, and vision that he is focused on and does not have time for dating or taking women seriously. Now Ryan comment on not trusting women is probably what he has witnessed as bad relationships experiences for someone in his life.
So lighten up and take it easy on Ryan and his family. -
again, I will say it again, INCEST, perverted lusting by his mom... Ryan, get far, far away from your mom, n if you have children, never leave her alone w/ them, ever... n yes, 'creeped out,' perfect term to describe his mom, ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
-
Perhaps he doesn't have gold medal strength under the covers! Can only do one night stands. Once a woman finds out what he is really made of theres no hope for a life long relationship.
-
That comment from his Mother was soooooo inappropriate on every level. Ewwww...... Don't get me wrong, he is a handsome guy, but not as much as his mom obviously thinks he is! It's as if she thinks every woman in America is dreaming about him or something. My message to her would be: Handsome men, hansome men with money, or hansome men with fame and money are a dime a dozen. He's not that special. Being handsome does not make you attractive! Is he funny, smart, interesting? We don't know. Looks don't make the man.......
-
maybe he is a homosexual?
-
So sorry for Ryan Lochte in all this. It's bad enough when a parent embarrasses their child in front of his/her friends, but on national television!!!! I hope he grills his mom (ha ha!!) for speaking so openly about his sex life. But so glad to hear from Dr. Ruth!! Love you, girl and keep on keepin' on!!!
-
OR RYAN COULD BE GAY and she is hiding that fact. Idiots would never think such a possibility. Get real.
-
Perhaps it was just an unfortunate use of words by his mother. What she likely meant was playing the field and not literally one night stands. Occasional dating, movie, dinner, parties, with friends. You people are disgusting that you would not consider that his mother just didn't know the proper way to put that her son likes girls, just not one girl all the time.
-
This totally creeps me out. His mother saying he has one night stands, what kind of relationship does him and his mother have???
-
Oh I just cant even say enough!!!!! Does she have a checklist of girls for him??? All I can do is shake my head, but then again this frootloop puts thats grill on his teeth and looks like a very uneducated moron!!!
-
his mother is gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy thus the reason she doesn't understand male/female relationships
