A UFO (maybe) did not hover over the opening ceremonies
We're sure somewhere in London someone is trying to cash in a $23,000 winning bet. In the meantime, the entire Internet is busy exchanging conspiracy theories.
At issue is the claimed siting of a UFO over Olympic Stadium during Friday's opening ceremonies. More than a few people noticed a glowing object orbiting the stadium that evening. About 4,000 videos, most taken from TV broadcasts, have been posted to YouTube to aid in the conversation.
The gambler who put $23 down on a 1,000/1 prop bet "Will a UFO appear above the Olympic Stadium during opening ceremonies?" certainly needs assistance. Then again, that gambler might have been a blimp pilot.
Posted by @goodyear_uk on Twitter Monday night was this: "Wow we really seem to have caused a #UFO phenomenon! Are you convinced it was us above the park on Friday night?!"
We hate to disappoint the conspiracy theorists. But, having seen it with our own eyes in the skies above London, it's definitely a blimp.
